Coffee Beans - How long to grind for drip coffee maker?
I recently joined Seattle Coffee Direct and received coffee beans and Cuisinart coffee grinder. I always just bought ground or ground it using the machine at the grocery store. So, I need advice. How many coffee beans do I put in for a pot of coffee? How long do I grind it to get the right grind for my drip coffee maker? How long do I grind for my percolator (yes, I have one of those too).
I have a different grinder, so you might need to experiment with yours. I almost fill the grinder cup (leave some room), and grind while ... See More
Not sure what you mean....what kind is a "regular coffee maker" if it's not a drip coffee maker? Anyway, I use a french press coffee maker ... See More
How many watts (or amps) does a drip coffee maker use?
I am interested in the electric load required to run a small Mr. Coffee type drip coffee maker - either in watts or amps. The one I uses is a very small one - 4 cup capacity, but I expect the heating element is the same as the larger (8, 12 cup) models.
On the back or bottom will be the pwr. requirements in watts. Divide by 120 to get the amps. See More
It'd take the same amount of AMPS to make the 4 cups as the other amounts BUT won't take as long to make . Thus , saving you $$$$$ (brewing ... See More
How do you remove the brown discoloring on a white drip coffee maker?
I have a white Mr Coffee coffee maker that is easy to clean except for one place. That is the part just above the drip basket, where the hot water drips into the basket. The basket is also discoloring, but not as much as the above part. I have tried formula 409 and scorering powder but it has little effect.
I use bleach to clean mine; but it actually is a pretty thankless job since it really doesn*t change the taste of the coffee one way or ... See More
I've tried bleach and it sorta worked, but as fast as I go through coffee makers, I just clean it as well as possible and wait for it to ... See More
Why do a lot of drip coffe makers not let the water through the filter basket and overflow for us?
We have had at least three drip coffee makers that have overflowed. Some were even new. The coffee would go into the filter basket and never go out into the carafe and eventually overflow. We have one now that doesn't have a carafe, but stays in the container until you place a cup under it, but would like to find out why we have had this problem with more than one brand.

is the coffee ground for drip coffee maker. If its ground too fine it will clog the filter. See More
How do you maintain a commercial drip coffee maker?
We have a Bunn coffee maker that has a "two pot" water reservoir, so when you add water there is an instant brewing process because there already is hot water inside. This week I noticed that the flow was literally down to a drip, now it takes triple the time to brew a pot of coffee. How do I get it to flow better? All I see is the vinegar method, but I'm afraid, with the reservoir, that I'll never be able to get all the vinegar rinsed out. I've heard of the term "delime." Is there any special procedure or product for this?
RUN A COUPLE OF WATER RESEVOIRS THROUGH WITH ONLY BAKING SODA AND THEN A FINAL ONE WITH JUST CLEAR WATER. See More
I've done the vinegar method. It worked for me. There wasn't any left over flavor or anything. The de-lime thing is about cleaning out ... See More

Why are most coffee makers drip coffee makers? What happened to perk coffee makers. Is drip coff
My mother always made perked coffee and now everyone uses drip coffee makers. Why? Which method produces the best coffee?
Perked coffee is boiled coffee, too easy to burn the coffee, making it bitter. Drip pots make a smoother, better tasting coffee. See More
perked coffee tends to become extremely bitter after a couple of hours of keeping hot, because some of the dregs get into the pot. See More
Would you agree that percolated coffee is by FAR better than drip coffee makers?
I just got a percolated coffee maker and I could never go back to the drip coffee, there is no comparison!...xxx

Do different coffee makers make a difference in the tayste of coffee?
I'm sur 90% has to do with the coffee, but what about different drip coffee makers?
Coffee makers don't have a flavor, they just do the kind of coffee they are designed to do. See More
I know that if you grind the beans yourself it will taste a lot fresher, and store them in a dark container. As for the coffee maker, I ... See More
