How come the more expensive home heater paper filters do not plug up as fast the fiberglass filters?
The paper filters are supposed to filter more than a fiberglass filter of the same size. I would think the filter that plugs up first is doing so because it filters more.
the better ones are pleated giving it 3 times the length actually. if you stretch it out, you ll see much more area See More

What has been your experience with electronic air filters?
I use a Timeline brand CG-1000 electronic air filter in my air handler. Electronic air filters, as opposed to electrostatic ones, filter air using a charged electrical grid plus filter pads. I found mine a bit of a struggle to replace, but it has kept my coil completely clean now for 3 years. I just vacuum it monthly, and change the pads about every 3 months. I had to replace the filter assembly after 3 years as the thing failed on me. I would like to hear your experiences.
I have found my Ionic Breeze to be a nice paper weight, not much else. See More
My experience is that they are not all that good unless you can move the air across a filter. Most are a waste of money. See More

What order should filters be placed in aquarium?
I have an Aqua One AR980 215lt tank which has an over head wet/dry filtration system filtering 1000lt per hour. It has three bins for filters and I have ceramic noodles, ammonia sponge, carbon sponge, cotton and a plain sponge. The water arrives at the top of the basket and leaves through the bottom. What is the correct way to set up phone filters for DSL?
In our box we have 4 phone filters, none of them are wall filters. With that in mind, do we plug in the splitter and then connect the DSL line and phone line? Do we plug in a phone filter into one of the splitter's ports? Do we put a phone filter in each phone jack not using the splitter? The instructions weren't clear. This is for the Actiontec modem.
Call tech support. See More
You put a filter for each jack that uses a phone line; no filter at all for the line that goes to the modem. The use of a splitter ... See More
What do the different color filters for the holga do to a B&W photograph?
I just bought the filter set for my holga and I was wondering what some of the different filters do. For instance does the green filter add color to a subject like it would for a regular film camera? Or does the red add contrast to the sky? Or do they do completely different things?
You are right, the different colour filters will change the look and "feel" of your B&W photo. Instead of writing a super-long ... See More

I have bought a fluval filter to replace my undergravel filter. What is the best way to change the f
I have had an under gravel filter for a while, but have been convinced through reading posts that a filter along the lines of a fluval underwater is superior. I would like to use my new filter, but do not want to risk my fish by disturbing them too much. Please can anyone give me some advice on the change over. Would I need to use the two filters togther for a while?

Can I setup two filters for my 55 gallon fish tank?
I am getting over an ammonia spike that killed all my fish (from too many fish and probably overfeeding). I purchased a new tank because I figured now is the time to do it before I get all established again. I have the dual bio-wheel filter from my current tank (for 55+ gallons) and an Aqua-Tech dual bio-filter for my new tank. Can I set both these up on the new tank and get things moving faster (as far as getting bacteria established) and keep it extra clean? I've never used a bio-filter, so I dont know anything about it, I've always had a bio-wheel, and don't know anything about running two filters.... I can't "over filter" my water can I?? Thanks!
yes you can run two filters See More
