What is the correct way to set up phone filters for DSL?
In our box we have 4 phone filters, none of them are wall filters.

With that in mind, do we plug in the splitter and then connect the DSL line and phone line? Do we plug in a phone filter into one of the splitter's ports? Do we put a phone filter in each phone jack not using the splitter?

The instructions weren't clear. This is for the Actiontec modem.

You put a filter for each jack that uses a phone line; no filter at all for the line that goes to the modem.

The use of a splitter doesn't change the above. Treat a splitter, if you want one, just like the original jack. I.e., on a splitter you can plug (1) a line that goes directly to the modem, and also, (2) a filter, that would take a line to your phone.
You put a filter on each phone line that you won't be using DSL on.
