How are water filters like Brita better for the environment?
Than plastic bottles when you can recycle the plastic bottles but have to toss the Brita filters in the garbage?

Does somewhere recycle Brita filters?

Yes. Brita recycles their filters.
they filter out things not seen, like medicines that have been
fllushed down the toilet, perhaps a virus is in it, the water is
clear and fresh.
Yes you do throw them away but you will get more water from that filter enough to fill hundreds of plastic bottles. Its about reducing waste not eliminating it. Eliminating waste in next to impossible but this is the first step buy them.
Please visit: Reduce Waste Elliot Lake to find a posting called ``Water Disaster -one possible solution`` to answer your question --Thanks!

In Canada, every Brita filter comes with an envelope to return the used filter for recycling. This is not the case in the US for some strange reason. We should really complain to Brita about that.

I've been putting my Brita filters in the recycle bin.
