Is a milk frother and a milk steamer the same thing?
I am making a latte and the recipe calls for steamed milk, but when I research milk steamers, all the comes up are milk frothers... are they the same?

I think a frother and a steamer are two different things. But, by using either one, you end up with the exact same product in the end!
A steamer (you start with cold milk and it will make it hot) literally shoots hot steam into the milk to create bubbles and therefore foam.
A frother (you need to heat the milk first - they will not create heat on their own) throws the milk around at high speeds or through some sort of mesh or hole system and it therefore foams.
Both ways you end up with hot milk and a pile of foam on top.
