How many watts (or amps) does a drip coffee maker use?
I am interested in the electric load required to run a small Mr. Coffee type drip coffee maker - either in watts or amps. The one I uses is a very small one - 4 cup capacity, but I expect the heating element is the same as the larger (8, 12 cup) models.

On the back or bottom will be the pwr. requirements in watts. Divide by 120 to get the amps.
It'd take the same amount of AMPS to make the 4 cups as the other amounts BUT won't take as long to make . Thus , saving you $$$$$ (brewing it and keeping it hot enough to drink). The electricity to operate is only 110 watts (normal household 2 pronged wall plug-in with a ground hole above or below them). The amperage will be listed on the plate along with the other info ( wattage , serial number, model number ,etc.)
yep look on the bottom name plat it ill say voltage watts example 1,500 watts at 120 volts is = to 12.5 amps
