How do you remove the brown discoloring on a white drip coffee maker?
I have a white Mr Coffee coffee maker that is easy to clean except for one place. That is the part just above the drip basket, where the hot water drips into the basket. The basket is also discoloring, but not as much as the above part. I have tried formula 409 and scorering powder but it has little effect.

I use bleach to clean mine; but it actually is a pretty thankless job since it really doesn*t change the taste of the coffee one way or another. and unless you have a cleaning obsession there is no reason to worry about it. Try running white vinegar through the coffee maker about once a month to keep it clear
I've tried bleach and it sorta worked, but as fast as I go through coffee makers, I just clean it as well as possible and wait for it to quit so I can buy another...........
I know exactly what you are talking about. I use the green scrubby side of a sponge, works every time.;)
