RUSTY COFFEE PERCOLATORS in SOME WORK ENVIRONMENTS!! Does the rust cause harm to health?

A more specific/scientific answer would be appreciated ie what happens neurologically/chemically in the body etc. Thanks.
Thank you Fred K. That is the kind of answer I was looking for. It goes, without saying, that the rust is always promptly removed when spotted though.

Any thing excessively inhaled or swallowed cause harm to our body. For everything there is a max. threshold limit, which one can intake some time but not always. Even if you eat excessively, the food becomes problem for you
Rust is principally iron oxide, and will have no harmful effect in the quantities available from a coffee percolator. The rust should be cleaned off as it could possibly harbour bacteria etc and just doesn't look nice.
Or just buy a new one!
Iron compounds are a treatment for some anaemias.
